Recent Mock Mola Work

It’s been a very busy week – we did three shows and three classes in three different states!!! I’ve been teaching my Mock Mola Applique class a lot lately, and I thought you might be interested in seeing what my students have been producing.  This is not a difficult technique, nor does it take a long time to master.  The fun of this class is the combination of the stunning fabrics, set off by the black overlay, and the unique and creative designs that each person comes up with.  I love it when someone who has never designed her own quilt before comes up with a wonderful quilt that she can be proud of. It works equally well with accomplished creative people.  Here are a few group shots from recent full-day classes.

We started the week in Lewes DE - the first time we've ever sung in Delaware!

This is from the Pepperell MA class.

And this was taken at the end of the class I taught yesterday in Milford New Hampshire. Lots of smiling faces!

I’m so proud of each and every one of these gals, and I hope they find a perfect place on the wall to hang these little gems!

We have another very busy week coming up.  Tomorrow we’ll sing (and do a class) for our first time in New Jersey – in Tuckahoe.  We are in a hotel overlooking the ocean tonight, and it seems like a low-key touristy area just now.  Then we’ll be back up the New Jersey Garden State Parkway to Massachusetts (Tewksbury) and New Hampshire again (Wolfeboro) before we get a well-deserved rest!
